Walk Detail: After a visit to the Highland Wildlife Park in the morning we went for this nice stroll around Loch an Eilein with its picturesque island castle.

Lisa and Val had briefly visited the loch the day before whilst Dave and I had been 'enjoying' our epic ealk up on to Ben Macdui. They both thought it most attractive so were only too happy to go back when I said there was a path all the way around it.

It was a very pleasant little walk although a lot of it was spent on woodland paths without a clear view of the Loch itself. At the southern end there was also a short cameo from the smaller Loch Gamhna. For some reason I didn't make any notes about this walk at the time so looking back on it seven years later there is not much else I can say really except that we all enjoyed it and that it proved to be a perfect way of stretching out my aching leg muscles from the previous day.
