When I first launched this website I deliberately avoided providing too many details of the routes I have used on my walks. More recently however I have started to add embedded OS survey maps with an outline of the route on 1:50,000 scale mapping. The information provided does not necessarily signify a right of way - in fact many of my walks make use of the CRoW Act. Anybody planning on going for a walk in the Pennines is urged to do so with a map (preferably in 1:25,000 scale for the extra detail it provides), a compass to hand and with appropriate clothing.

The timings I've given for my walks vary considerably depending on the length of the walk, weather conditions and who I was accompanied by. Therefore these timings are not a guarantee that anyone who chooses to follow a similar route will complete it in the same length of time.
