Walk Detail: This was a nice little end of year walk for me and Lisa on a rare day trip out to the Lakes for the two of us together.
The path slanting up to Yew Crag and then contouring round to the shooting hut was a delight with lots of changing views. From the shooting hut on it was a bit of a wet marshy slog but the views were fairly good even though the earlier sunshine had gone and the day was clouding over.
After lunch at the summit the walk to Green Hill was likewise wet in place but the descent via Bernard Pike was particularly fine with great views over Ullswater to the higher fells at the end of the valley. With all the heavy rain in the days previous (Ullswater was nearly lapping up against the road on the drive in) Aira Force was spectacular with a great deal of spray in the air - definitely the higlight of the walk.
