Walk Detail: It was a particularly misty November day and due to the drizzly conditions and general lack of visibility we scrapped our initial plan, which was to try and see if Rhiannon could manage the climb up on to Embsay Crag, for this circuit of Swinsty Reservoir.
It is nearly four years ago since I carried Rhiannon around Swinsty Reservoir when she was just a few months old. This time she managed the full three miles all on her own - the longest she has walked in one go. That fact alone made the whole walk worthwhile. Even more importantly she enjoyed it as we turned the walk into an extended play time interspersed with one stop for a picnic and another stop to feed the ducks.
The mist was so thick that you could barely see one side of the reservoir from the other. However, not even the poor visibility could obscure the colorful autumn woods surrounding the reservoir. A lovely little walk perfect for a budding little walker.
