Distance: 4.1 miles
Ascent: 270 feet
Time: 2 hours
With: Lisa
Start Grid Ref: SE168553

Walk Summary:
A nice easy walk around Fewston Reservoir, one of a chain of large reservoirs in the Washburn Valley.

Route Summary: Anti-clockwise circuit of Fewston Reservoir starting from Hopper Lane

1. Heron

2. Fewston Reservoir

3. Fewston Dam

4. Buttercups on a bank near the dam

5. Fewston Reservoir

6. Another view of Fewston Reservoir

Walk Detail: This was a nice easy walk, which is just as well as Lisa was eight months pregnant at the time. As the walk was so short and almost completely flat there was also no opportunity to do any further damage to my knee that I had injured on Scafell the month before.

This walk was most memorable for some of the wildlife we saw, especially the heron, mistle thrush and some coots. The water level of the reservoir was also really quite low as can be seen from one of the photos below of the dam.
