Walk Detail: It was a breezy showery day with showers forecast, as it happened we were fairly lucky and didn’t get much rain until we were coming down past Robin Procter Scar and that did not last long.

The path along Long Lane was straightforward and pleasant, if a bit dull. At the end of the lane we detoured off to see the large shake holes Matt and I had viewed on my last visit to Norber. Just as we got on to the summit plateau of Norber the cloud lifted over Ingleborough and I was able get good pictures of both the latter and Pen-y-Ghent with patches of limestone pavement in the foreground.

After traversing the top and visiting most of the cairns we went down to the erratic boulder field and had a good look around while also taking shelter from the breeze behind one of the large boulders in order to eat lunch.

After looking round the boulder field we headed back on what was a very straightforward path back along Thwaite Lane. Norber is one of my favourite Dales hills and it was nice to actually get some good views from it on this my third visit.
