Walk Detail: Having been put off by the weekends forecast I had declined the chance to go walking with Matt. As it turned out the sun didn't stop shining in Harrogate and while I was grateful to get a few things done in town by the afternoon I was thoroughly depressed by being inside on a nice day.
As I was on my own until early evening I decided to go out for a little ramble mainly so I could take some photos. I've always liked Swinsty Reservoir so I thought it would be the perfect tonic for me. The walk itself is a very simple circuit with lovely views of Swinsty and also Fewston Reservoir. In the plantations on the western side a large female deer even crossed my path.
I could not quite shake of the winter blues from the morning though. The stark beauty of Rubbra's Violin Concerto, which I had purchased that day and listened to on the drive out, probably did not help.
