Walk Detail: This was another short walk with Lisa and Rhiannon, this time joined by Mum on her first real walk since her foot operation.
Things did not get off to the best of starts when Rhiannon had her first bout of car sickness when she puked up just before we arrived in Hebden. It didn’t take too long to clean her up and thankfully Lisa had the foresight to pack some spare clothes for her.
It was a beautiful day with patches of sunlight and dramatic rain clouds in equal measure. Ever since Lisa and I had first walked up on to Grassington Moor I’d had this walk in mind as I loved the environs of Hebden Gill. With it being such a short walk and with no top to aim for I had not got round to doing it but it proved to be perfect for a family outing.
The highlight of the walk was the lovely Mossy Moor Reservoir where we stopped for a picnic, saw what I believe to be some dunlins and took some lovely pictures of Rhiannon.
Also memorable were the masses of buttercups along the banks of Hebden Beck. This was a lovely walk and I didn’t even mind missing out on the bigger fells on such a beautiful day.
